1. Who We Are
EduForge (eduforge.co.uk) provides downloadable and printable educational resources aligned with the UK National Curriculum. When we refer to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean EduForge.
2. What Information We Collect
We may collect the following personal data when you use our website:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password when you register for an account.
- Payment information: billing details processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
- Order information: records of the resources you have purchased and downloaded.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited, collected automatically when you browse our site.
- Communication data: any messages or enquiries you send to us via email or contact forms.
- Newsletter subscription data: if you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name, email address, role (teacher, parent, tutor, or other), and Key Stage of interest. We also record the IP address, user agent, and timestamp at the moment you give consent, as a record that consent was freely and actively given.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Process your orders and provide access to purchased resources.
- Send order confirmations and download links.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- Improve our website, products, and services.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Send our newsletter to subscribers who have asked to receive it, including new resources, lesson ideas, and occasional free samples relevant to the Key Stage they chose. We use double opt-in: we only email you after you click a confirmation link in the first email we send. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every newsletter, and we will not contact you for marketing again unless you re-subscribe.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we process your data on the following bases:
- Contract: processing necessary to fulfil your purchases and manage your account.
- Legitimate interests: improving our services and website security.
- Legal obligation: complying with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
- Consent: where you have opted in to receive marketing communications.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:
- Payment processors: Stripe, to process your payments securely.
- Hosting providers: who store our website data on secure servers.
- Legal authorities: if required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. We also retain data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
If you subscribe to our newsletter and never confirm, your record is kept for up to 30 days and then deleted. If you confirm and later unsubscribe, we keep your email and the timestamp of your unsubscribe as a suppression record (so we don't accidentally re-email you), but remove your other details.
7. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@eduforge.co.uk.
